Hello again. Glad to see you!
Let’s get right to today’s tour, shall we?
Here we have my favorite area in our home. The area that I (somewhat self consciously) refer to as “The Library”.

I know library sounds pretentious.

And a little silly.

Particularly for a 1600 square foot home.

But what else would you call a room pretty much devoted to books…

…along with a few knickknacks and decorative items? (It’s those twig balls again, Tara!)

The chair room?

The wood stove room?

The stripey rug room?

No really, that wasn’t hypothetical. What would you call it?
Because I’m at a loss.

Moving on, here we have my “control center”.

Why yes, that is a Flylady calendar.
But no, I don’t really do Flylady. But I have in the past. And thanks to her I am now a compulsive bed-maker. But evidence of that will come later on the tour.
And that leads us into the kitchen.

Not a lot of detail to point out. It has been recently updated and is fairly open and easy to work in.
I like it.
Here are close ups of the room’s artwork:

Small tile, made by The Girl Wonder. Large tile made by me. Straw holder made in China.

Things to change (someday):
Put a mantle around the wood stove.
Update appliances.
Replace pergo floor with real wood and extend it through the library and down the hall.
Replace formica counter tops with granite or soapstone.
Other ideas?
By the way, if you would like to showcase your home on your blog, please feel free to link to it in the comments section.
I think I’ll take the weekend off.
Come back Monday to see the master bedroom.

Call it the library, it’s great. And wow, made in China, You should really keep that fancy stuff hidden away. Kidding, you made me laugh. I’m amazed at how fast you’ve moved in. Sometimes I move us in right away, other times it takes me until we’re about to move again so I don’t see the point in finishing…
I love love love the library! I wish I had room in my home for something like. Some people want bars, craft rooms, offices… me, I would love a library with floor to ceiling shelves. Alas, it was not meant to be. Instead my books are in the basement in cardboard boxes. I love the blue chair, it would match perfectly with my sofa! LOL…
