Me, me, meme

My friend Becky tagged me with a meme and then taunted me by asking if I was woman enough to do it. Then Heather tagged me.
I’ve never done one before because of the whole headline thing. I prefer to tell stories…
But I’m going to do it for the following reasons.

  • I like both of these women
  • I am woman enough
  • I have a bad cold and the medicine is making me a bit loopy. I can’t come up with a coherent an original thought to share with you today.

Prepare to be dazzled.
First Becky‘s
List three joys
1. Watching my daughter master her fears and do something amazing.
2. Being tucked up into “my spot” underneath my husband’s arm
3. A cold day, a warm fire, and a good book

Three fears

I choose faith over fear…I choose faith over fear…I choose faith over fear (repeat as often as needed)

Three goals
1. Earn money for my writing (you clicking on my ads would be a start, though not quite what I have in mind)
2. Learn to speak Spanish
3. Learn to play the guitar

Three obsessions/collections

I’m only going to give one because I can’t think of any others. Mmmm, Dayquil…..
Books

Three random facts
1. The ‘s’ on my keyboard sticks
2. I like cinnamon flavored toothpaste
3. I once stepped on a slug without shoes on. By accident. It was truly disgusting.

Thrilling, I know. And here’s Heather’s:
Favorite person (outside family)?
My best friend, Janalyn.

Favorite food?
I hate favorite questions because what I really like is variety. And since I have a cold and no appetite whatsoever I’ll have to pass on this one.

Quirks about you?
Hmmm…I don’t usually have favorites?

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less?
She’s striving to be who I made her to be.

Any regrets in life?
Not really. I think it was Arthur Wilde who said, “It’ never too late to be who you might have been.”

Favorite Charity/ Cause?
I love working with birthmothers through LDS Family Services. I have done mentoring and attended childbirth-classes as well as giving training to ecclesiastical leaders.

Favorite Blog recently?
There’s that F-word again. Why don’t you just ask me to pick a favorite child? Oh, wait that would be easy for me….

Something you can’t get enough of?
Clean, folded, put away laundry. I wish I had so much more of it.

Worst job you’ve ever had?
Salad bar worker at Sizzler. What is it about a buffet that turns ordinary people into such slobs?

If you could be a fly on the wall, where?
I’d rather not be a fly because of the whole vomiting stomach acid on my food thing…

Favorite Bible verse right now?
Philippians 4:13 -I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Guilty Pleasure?
A cold, day, a warm fire and a good book.

Got any confessions?
Read ‘em here.

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it?
Airline tickets (for two) to someplace tropical. Because even though I’m spending it on myself, I’d really like to take my husband with me.

Favorite thing about your house?
My library

Least favorite thing about your house?
These spindles

One thing you are bad at?
Prioritizing my time.

One thing you’re good at?
I can tie a balloon faster than anyone I’ve ever met. Top that!

If you could change something about your circumstances, what?
Didn’t I already mention those spindles?

Who would you like to meet someday?
Well, I’ve already met Aaron from The Apprentice LA. Twice, actually; we got out hair done at the same place in Maryland. So I guess I can die happy.

What makes you-
-I can’t do it. I just can’t make it through the rest. Too sleepy. Must rest…
I tag anyone who wishes to answer. Let’s hope your answers are more exciting than mine.
zzzzzzzzz

The guitar is NOT hard. I taught myself when my husband was in the military and never home. There’s these mormon guitar song books where most hymns are pretty easy and just get the Hal Leonard Book 1, 2 and 3. Also, don’t buy a cheap guitar.
thanks for the lists, that was fun.
I’m always looking for fun ways to journal and remember what daily life was like at any given time but even that changes dramatically.
I didn’t know you did the help with LDS family services. That’s very cool. My husband was adopted through there and we thought that’s how we’d get our kids as well.
    Awesome.

Dayquil AND humor. I’m truly impressed. Love that quote–adding to ….well….something that contains favorite quotes.
